Darfur Lecture/Discussion Monday

On Monday, Peabody Award winning filmmaker Paul Freedman will speak about the genocide that is taking place in the Darfur region of Sudan. He has spent the past 3 years researching it, has been there, and just completed a documentary on it. He'll be showing parts of the documentary at the talk.

The event will take place at the Ohlone College Smith Center. He'll speak both at noon and at 7 pm. Admission is free.

What's going on there dwarfs things like 9/11, Katrina, and the 2004 tsunami combined - yet very little is being reported (and if you think significant things are being done - you're in for an awakening). This lecture is kind of a unique opportunity to get an understanding of the background and what really is happening.

For some more interesting background and detail, check out the advance i wrote on
